ADT will install its Sensormatic® Pro-Max® Plus anti-theft systems in the entrances and exits of all the Leroy Merlin stores. The Pro-Max® Plus systems use Ultra•Max® acousto-magnetic (AM) technology to detect any products with security tags that have not been deactivated at a cash desk. They are characterised by their compact style and broad coverage, making them ideal for the open, obstacle-free design typical of this type of store. The systems also offer excellent detection performance in relation to products with metal parts, such as many of the decoration, building or DIY products available from Leroy Merlin.
A source tagging programme has also been introduced in co-operation with Leroy Merlin’s suppliers, so that products will already be security tagged when they arrive at a store. This will enable products to be made available quickly, helping to improve operations by removing the need to tag products in the shop’s warehouses.
Jose Ramón Garcia, Head of Security for Leroy Merlin Spain commented, “The source tagging programme is important because logistics are crucial in our sector. Last year, we received the ICIL award for logistics excellence and the changes which we are making should enable us to maintain our high standards.”
Mr Ramón Garcia continued: “At Leroy Merlin, we sell products in the decoration, gardening, DIY and building sectors. Our centres are characterised by a product range which spans various specialisms and styles for a broad customer base. We offer everything our customers need for fittings, repairs and home improvement, with a broad range of services and excellent customer service. To protect this vast and varied product range, we needed to work with a specialist company such as ADT who is able to supply us with the most reliable detection technology.”
Ignacio Cuenca, Marketing Director for ADT Spain and Portugal, said: “An innovative and original shop like Leroy Merlin needs a tailored security solution. Our Ultra•Max® AM detection technology provides excellent levels of performance for all types of items, including metallic products such as those in the DIY, decoration, building and gardening sectors.”
ADT offers a complete suite of electronic security and operational tools for retailers around the world and serves 8 of the top 10 global retailers.
