Ratingen, Milano and Capelle Embark on Treasure Hunts to Help Save EnergyWith the aim of identifying opportunities to reduce our energy wastes and increase our positive environmental impact, during Q2 our local Vital World teams embarked on three new Treasure Hunts in our offices in Ratingen, Milano and Capelle. Including the Treasure Hunt that took place in Madrid last December, four head offices have now been touched by the environmental breeze of the Zero Harm programme. More than 40 enthusiastic and committed volunteers scanned our three facilities to identify Energy Treasures. They found more than 360 screens and 140 printers in stand-by mode during non working hours. Although these devices are designed to save energy, they generate more than 8000 KWh per year - equivalent to 2 Tons of CO2 emission. The Treasure Hunters also identified opportunities to reduce the CO2 emissions in our facilities by implementing small changes such as swapping from halogen to fluorescent or LED bulbs, or adjusting the temperature and timing of water heaters. All Vital World teams are working with our senior management to translate these opportunities into a consistent plan to reduce CO2 emissions in our facilities. Our contribution and commitment to this plan is crucial. Changing the way we consume energy, not only in the office but also at home, can make a huge difference in energy saving. More Treasure Hunts will be carried out across ADT Continental Europe. To find out more or put forward your ideas and suggestions, please speak to your local Vital World team.
