Liverpool John Lennon AirportTotal security and protectionADT installed a vital new security system at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The system incorporates CCTV cameras, infrared fence protection and an update of the Airport's access control system, offering total protection across the airport, including terminal buildings and car parks. The sheer increase in infrastructure at the Airport and the volume of passenger throughput, estimated at 3.2 million, prompted a complete upgrade and expansion of their security systems. ADT studied the airport's specification and was able to provide a CCTV system which exactly fitted their needs, updating and expanding the original system and making the change from analogue to a 24-hour digital system. We were also contracted to maintain and update the access control system to authorise staff to access secured zones. This was for both air-side areas, to be accessed only by aircraft employees, and for land-side zones, used by catering and retail staff. The access system links into the CCTV system, triggering response alarms and altering cameras to focus on areas attracting attention from unwanted guests. The complete security system is a cost-effective solution that is user friendly, yet sophisticated and provides protection against crime and associated risks.
